School Visits With Ellen Potter

Ellen sparks kids’ love of reading and writing with her captivating, interactive school visits!

An all-day visit begins with a lively 40-minute, all-school presentation where students discover how writers find and develop their ideas, create characters that leap off the page, and harness a writer’s greatest superpower—revision. The presentation wraps up with an engaging Q&A, giving students a chance to ask their own questions about writing and the creative process.

After the presentation, Ellen leads 3–4 fun, hands-on writing workshops with smaller groups. These sessions are designed to ignite students’ natural creativity, helping them explore their imaginations and begin crafting stories of their own. For younger grades, Ellen can also include an interactive read-aloud experience.

Ellen is also available for Virtual School Visits, bringing the same dynamic energy and creative inspiration to classrooms anywhere.
